LaRon Landry is sounding like Sean Taylor.
Landry isn’t attending the OTAs. His coach can’t reach him. Sure seems familiar.
Landry has every right to skip OTAs. It’s permitted in his contract because these are “voluntary” workouts. But, how many of us have worked extra hours without pay to get the job done? Were we suckers to do so? Maybe, but you do what you think is best.
When all of your teammates are at OTAs, you should be there. It’s only four weeks of the offseason. You get nearly 6 weeks off before training camp after taking two months off earlier in the offseason. Whether Landry is conditioning elsewhere is irrelevant. You should show up for these sessions to build chemistry and be 100 percent ready for training camp.
It’s a little baffling. Landry is a good guy who works hard. He needs someone in his ear to tell him it’s time to show up in Ashburn and not be a distraction.
