Brian Mitchell has always spoken his mind, and he’s usually worth listening to more often than not.
This war with Dan Snyder — not so much.
Mitchell’s contract wasn’t renewed with ESPN 980 recently. Mitchell says it wasn’t money, but Snyder’s unhappiness with Mitchell’s criticism of his former team. The radio station said it was financial.
Well, it’s not easy to take sides. The station is not renewing some contracts and cutting people like many other radio stations and businesses. Al Koken was not retained shortly before Mitchell.
I think it was more financial, but certainly Snyder didn’t mind Mitchell not barking at the team on the air. But, who knows.
Mitchell doesn’t need the work, and he’ll probably resurface elsewhere. But I’m reminded of something my father taught me at an early age. If you leave a job, show class. Keep your mouth shut because you never know when you’ll have to go back. And, it was good advice because I’ve twice returned to previous employers in my career.
Brian should swallow such comments because when you sling mud at others, you get a little dirty yourself.
