Wow, what a lot of moaning and groaning by fans today over a new parking lot policy at FedEx Field for Redskins games. I spent two hours chasing down this whole thing.
1. You get one space because you paid for one space. Sorry, but this sense of entitlement of taking more isn’t happening any more. It’s like getting mad when someone sits next to you on the plane. I guess if you want two spots you could buy a second pass and hang it around a chair next to you.
2. Tailgaters will have a place to hang in the back of the lots, which is where a lot of them do it anyway.
3. There will be a man in a security blazer telling you to park in this row. So if you like to get there hours early and park by a certain light post, this will make it harder. You’ll have to meet in the tailgate sections.
4. There will be dedicated lots for 240 suite holders close to the stadium. News alert — rich people park closer. The Titanic sank, too.
Also, the tickets will now be scanned instead of ripped so all your souvenir lovers won’t have your tickets torn.
I remember asking Jack Kent Cooke once why he wasn’t building an even bigger stadium when there were so many people on the waiting list. He said, “By God man, I wouldn’t be able to get them in or out of the stadium.”
The Squire was right. The parking lots are chaos. The Redskins are trying to get everyone out a little easier.

It has been the Teams policy to only allow 1 parking space per vehicle. If they could just enforce their own policy none of this would be a problem. The majority of the tailgaters obey the rule. Do not punish the majority because the minority is not following the rules. If you do not agree with the new Policy please read and sign the Petition at http://www.savetailgating.com
