It’s tough love, but the Washington Redskins should place Chris Cooley and Clinton Portis on injured reserve.
Cooley is out with a broken ankle while Portis has missed two games with a concussion with another two possible.

Actually, the Redskins tight end is shooting video like crazy at the Pro Bowl. Go to his web site for really good inside-the-lockerroom goofing off with players. Clinton Portis especially becomes a ham in front of and behind the camera. Clinton even interviews Eli Manning in one segment.

The Super Bowl draws everybody in football and all sorts of press conferences. My favorite over the years was the halftime entertainment acts. You saw some really cool people and my favorite was Aerosmith arriving 20 minutes late and plastered. How cool is that — seeing rock gods hammered.

Clinton Portis was packing up his locker at Redskins Park, heading to the beach for months of rest. Not thinking about watching playoff games. Not planning to do anything physical until at least March when many players start weight lifting. Not thinking about football at all.
